The Material Plane is the reality in which the planet of Apraxia finds itself, along with its sun and moon.

The Ethereal Plane is best described as the Ghost World that overlaps with Material Plane. Ghosts use ethereal plane to pass through walls, but are still visible on material plane because they overlap instead of being wholly distinct like other planes.

Kind of a "mental" plane where spirits go to travel from the material plane to the afterlife, which can be any number of other outer planes, based on which afterlife you're going to. This is also where spirits go during astral projection and where things like manifested nightmares are going to come from.

Nevernever is basically a loud echo of the material plane. It is filled with bright colors and is extremely exotic and dangerous. This is the home of faeries and fae. The laws of physics can bend and warp and in some cases just cease to exist in places in the Nevernever.

The Shadow Plane is a muted echo of the Material Plane. It is wrought with dull colors, most of them grey, and is a dreary and dark place which is almost always overcast like it's about to rain. Some areas on Shadow Plane seem to have an affinity with the Negative Energy Plane and life-draining undead such as shadows, ghosts, and vampires.

Each Element has its own Plane, generally where Elementals of that type come from. This is generally where magic temporarily summons elements from (Eg: A summoned Fireball draws fire from the Plane of Fire.) Each Elemental Plane generally reflects its elemental type in appearance and temperment.

These planes are what you would think of them; they are where Positive and Negative energy are drawn from in a similar fashion to the Elemental Planes.

The gods generally dwell in the Outer Planes and their own constructed Pocket Dimensions or planes are generally located here.

The Abyss is the hellish Plane where Demons, Devils, and Aberrations dwell. It is a rocky barren plane covered in volcanic hellfire and endless suffering.
