Hjord encourages his followers to fiercely protect what is theirs and to seek out, take, and kill when it is necessary to your own safety. Great Ursa believes what is necessary is enough for your kin to thrive and to never go wanting.

History

Incomplete.

Relationships

Drulanar is constantly at odds with Hjord who he refers to as the "Greedy Cub".

Providence

Hjord speaks to his followers through visions triggered by smoking hallucinogenic substances. Beehives are taken as a sign of good fortune as well as abundant game kills. Running out of food or a famine are taken as dark signs.

Church of Hjord

The church of Hjord is composed of many barbarian tribes, orc clans, hermits, and druids. Many clan and tribe leaders are those who have proven to be the strongest and in doing so earn a divine connection with Hjord who aids them in leading their kin.

Clergy

Many of the clergy are Barbarians, Shamans, Rangers, Druids, and War Priests. Few are Clerics and in extremely rare cases paladins arise, though only to those good hearted few whose strength and leadership is so undeniable that even Hjord recognizes it. This has only occurred three times in the last one thousand years. The clergy acts as a an extension of the tribe itself and each tribes version of worship and roles in the tribe vary. Some merely act as advisors while others lead the tribe directly.

Temples & Shrines

The tribes rarely dedicate a place of worship or shrine to Hjord choosing instead to adorn themselves in tokens and trophies of their victories to honor the Great Ursa. There is one location however that is most holy to Hjord and where only a tribe or clan leader may enter. It is here that before Hjord they may try to prove their dominance over all clans and tribes to unite them under one family.

Holy Texts

Holy stories are passed down through word of mouth and only in the clan tongue.

Holidays

Individual tribes generally manage their own set of holidays.

Favored animals

Gods are often associated with certain animals, either because they possess a quality favored by the god, or because the god's faithful feel a special kinship to them. Hjord's favored animals are the bear and dire bear.
